Can you remember back to that first moment when you were so excited about starting your business?

Dreaming of your own space and the great products and services you would offer? Your very own logo design, the font you would use to set you apart on your business cards, and even doing all the research needed to make your business profitable?  From the tiniest of details to the grand scope of your dream, it was all exciting and the most enjoyable parts of starting a business.  It’s the place where new and innovative ideas flow and motivation remains high.

However, let's face it, we soon discover that there are just some parts to doing business that don’t match up with our strengths and therefore can be dreaded by many. Scary IRS letters, Workman’s Comp Audits, processing payroll and keeping up with the books, are just a few that come to mind.    Like many small businesses, hiring a full time bookkeeper isn't always an option leaving us to wear many hats, whether they fit or not.  If you’ve found yourself in a place where the financials are bogging you down, getting organized is a challenge, and dreaming is only in your sleep, let us help.

I’m Gretchen Codding, Enrolled Agent and Founder + Lead Strategist of G.CO, LLC.

My friends call me G, where G.CO gets its name.

As a small business owner myself, I have learned the art of prioritizing and how to focus on the best ways to serve our clients. This happens when we all work together and collaborate.

Our business is helping you get back to your business. We thrive when you're thriving.  We enjoy performing all aspects of bookkeeping, taxes, and collaboration to streamline your business. We see the big picture and can take you there. You no longer need to spend time on separating your Amazon purchases for office supplies, or freshening up on the latest tax changes so you can maximize your depreciation on that new van you bought for deliveries this year.

Perhaps you’re still in the dreaming stages of wanting to start your own business, but don’t know quite where to start. In that case….we can help set you up for success and less stress.

About me...

I was born in Bozeman, MT, but spent most of my youth growing up in Sacramento, California, and much of my adult life living in Southern California. It was always my dream to become the first in my family to go to college, so I worked hard to make it happen. It took almost 10 years to work and put myself through college, but it was all worth it. I had two educations by the time I finally graduated with honors and a Business Management Degree from CSUS.

After graduating college in Sacramento, I returned to Southern California and then moved to Philadelphia for close to 10 years, collectively. During that time, I was able to grow both personally and professionally, while fostering many great relationships and why I am fortunate to have clients on both coasts, abroad, and in between.

In August 2021, I finally returned home to Sacramento to be closer to my family and I couldn't be happier to finally experience all of the things that I missed while I was away.

My leisure time is spent with family, friends and my many nieces and nephews that call me Auntie. I love to cook, experience new things and travel the world. Yoga helps to keep my mind and body balanced as well as sewing, tending to my succulents, crafts and DIY projects, help to feed my creative side.

This is my business/life model, balancing both work and leisure in order to enjoy the fruits of my labor, and my desire is to share it with you.  I’m forever fueled by the love of spontaneity and new adventures, and I imagine you are too.

What I do...

I am a Full Charge Bookkeeper, Tax Preparer, Collaborator, Small Business Consultant and “Dream Restorer.”  I work remotely and in person with small business clients from coast to coast.

I've gained the necessary experience and expertise by working for and with many organizations over the years. This has allowed me to pay close attention to their every nuance and call upon the best suited business practices across all industries. Understanding the value of teamwork and collaboration has afforded me the ability to utilize the tools I learned in college and in the workforce, and to adapt them to smaller operations.

I partner with you to reach your goals starting with getting your business on the right track, improving current operations, and corresponding with payroll setup and state licenses.  I provide bookkeeping as frequently as needed, meet with you remotely or in person each quarter to track estimated taxes, and collaborate together to make decisions and discuss strategies to reach set goals.

I will incorporate your business as it grows, and file both corporate and personal tax returns.  My Goal? To help you focus on the reason why you started your business in the first place.

As the only girl with four brothers, I have learned to be tough when I need to be, especially when it comes to protecting or looking out for others, and being soft where it counts.  Small businesses are the backbone of this country.  I remain committed to getting them and keeping them strong, prosperous and healthy, one client at a time.

Lastly, I understand the vulnerability of sharing business operations and financials, therefore, transparency and trust are of the utmost importance to me.  I believe in authenticity.  I highly value relationships, loyalty, and treating others with grace and respect.

Please follow me on Facebook and Instagram to dive into my everyday world, and to gather some Tax Tips along the way. I hope to connect with you soon and together start working towards developing strategies for not only surviving, but thriving.
